Education

The Galveston Arts Center’s mission includes providing visual arts education and fostering an environment for creative expression within the community.

The Art for All Education Outreach Program fosters individual and community growth by encouraging adults and children to explore the creative process in a nurturing environment where they build self-confidence and improve problem-solving skills.

Through this initiative, GAC promotes the visual arts by bringing the community into the Arts Center through workshops, tours, lectures and classes, as well as by taking GAC into the community in order to reach those who might not otherwise have access to visual arts programs.

These outreach programs provide art instructors and supplies free of charge to underserved populations on the island. Other educational programs invite the public to come and experience the joy of artmaking and art appreciation throughout the year.

Art for All Education and Outreach Programs are supported in part by The Brown Foundation and The Texas Commission on the Arts.
