For ages 13 to adult
Create a series of bold block prints in honor of Galveston Island’s 20th Annual FeatherFest with bird-lover and printmaker Becca Hovey. In this one-day workshop, the instructor will provide various photos and images of birds, or you can bring in something of your own if you prefer; you will learn how to turn your image into a line drawing, transfer the drawing to a Speedball Speedy-Carve® rubber printing block and then carve it out with Speedball tools, then ink it and print it in the traditional manner onto heavyweight paper to display and enjoy!
Each participant will leave this 3-hour workshop with a set (or “edition”) of original fine art prints to keep, share, or turn into cards. You can even embellish your prints with colored pencils or watercolor paint if you would like to make each print one-of-a-kind.
All materials and supplies for this class are included with registration.
