Galveston Arts Center (GAC) presents its annual speaker series, Conversations @ The Center, featuring artists and arts professionals who speak about and show images of their work, practices, professions, or discuss timely issues in contemporary visual art. The 2020 series highlights individuals and artists working in the field of arts, accessibility, and healthcare.

Tonight’s Speakers are: Zachary Gresham, Caroline Docwra, and Reyna Collura

Zachary Gresham is an educator, administrator, artist, and musician. Zachary is currently the Program Manager for Arts in Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and is an instructor in Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston. His articles and interviews have been published in SchoolArts Magazine, Teaching Artist Guild Quarterly, TRENDS, The Journal of the Texas Art Education Association, and Art History Teaching Resources and he has presented at conferences such as the National Art Education Association (NAEA), National Guild for Community Arts Education, Texas Art Education Association (TAEA), Houston Arts Partners Conference, and the Global Academic Programs Conference. His artwork has been included in several group exhibitions, including Lawndale Art Center's The Big Show, where he received a juror award in 2017 (selected by Toby Kamps). Additionally, he is a cellist, where he performs with various community groups, including the Symphony of Southeast Texas.

Caroline Docwra is the Visual Arts Project Specialist at the Center for Performing Arts Medicine at Houston Methodist. She holds a Master’s in Arts Leadership at the University of Houston and a Bachelor’s in Biology and Art History. Caroline has a passion for working with Houston communities, supporting artists, and has worked with various organizations including Houston Arts Alliance, Fort Bend Theatre, Houston Center for Photography, Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center, and the Children's Museum of Houston.

Reyna Collura is the program director of Art for All, the main outreach initiative of the Galveston Arts Center, which provides free weekly art programing for patients and clients at eight healthcare and social service sites in Galveston year-round. The program empowers adults and children of all abilities to explore the creative process for personal enrichment and well-being. Reyna holds an MFA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design. She discovered her passion for the Arts in Healthcare field in 2009, when she became an artist in residence in the Shands Arts in Medicine program at the University of Florida. Since taking direction of Art for All in 2014, she expanded the existing program to four additional healthcare sites, including two units at UTMB Health and both the short-term and long-term facilities at Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute.
