For ages 13 to adults.  Build your own ceramic planter by hand! These porous clay pots absorb water and allow excess moisture to be released from the soil more quickly. (Perfect for succulents and cacti!)

Join Galveston ceramicist Jessica Ninci in this one-day workshop and learn how to construct planters that is sturdy, fun and functional! This is a hand-building class in which you can explore various construction techniques like pinch pots, slab method, and coil method, and expressive surface techniques like pattern stamping, relief drawing, and embellishments. We will be using a red earthenware clay that is easy to work with and fires to a beautiful terra cotta color.

Look at examples from art history and contemporary art, or bring in an idea or design of your own.

All pieces will be fired and ready for pick-up by February 18.

All materials and supplies for this class are included with registration.
