Printmaking Series

In this printmaking art class, students explore the intricate techniques of creating prints using various methods such as etching glass, linocut, and and woodcutting. Participants learn to transfer their designs onto different surfaces, mastering the use of specialized tools and materials. Through hands-on practice, they gain an understanding of composition, texture, and color layering to produce unique, handcrafted prints. The class fosters creativity and precision, offering beginning artists the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

What If I can’t Draw? It’s okay! Bring a design, photo, or sketch to class, or chose from a selection of images provided. Either way, Jamie will help you turn the image into a simple line drawing suitable for carving.

Please pre-register. Supplies are ordered based on enrollment and can take up to 7 business days to arrive.
No refunds of registration fees.
Missed classes will not be refunded.
In the rare event of cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances, a reasonable effort will be made to schedule a make-up class session on an alternate date, or your fee can be applied to a different class.
Group communications is handled via email. Please check your inbox for announcements before class.
For liability reasons, please do not register a student who is a minor unless you are their parent or legal guardian.

GAC Members enjoy 20% off of tuition. You must sign in with the email associated with your membership account to receive the discount. Full-time students, teachers/professors, and parents who homeschool can join at the Student/Educator level for just $30/year.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Teachers, counsellors, etc. may nominate a person with whom they are professionally acquainted for a scholarship if they can attest to the the student’s interest in the subject and financial need. The student’s parent/legal guardian will be notified and given further instructions. You may not nominate your own child, dependent, or other close relation.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Jamie Sanford is a local Galveston artist pursuing her dreams to educate and inspire her community through the beauty of art. She is active in the Galveston community events with art walks and several pop up art oriented events. Jamie specializes in human anatomy 2D pictures with charcoal. 2nd to charcoal, she enjoys expressing herself with acrylic paints. As Jamie moves forward, she hopes to grow more with Galveston as this community brings her such joy.
