SUMMER CAMP SCHEDULE

MIXED MEDIA ART CAMP

Recommended ages 7-12

June 02-June 05 | Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm | $220 Member price $175

Mixed Media camp with Catherine Stround & Harper Goldfeather Discover, experiment, and create at our Mixed Media Art Camp! Through hands-on projects and creative challenges, campers will learn to layer textures, blend colors, and think outside the box while developing their artistic voice. Recommended ages 13-18

June 9- June 12 | Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm | $220 member price: $175

Join us for a series of creative sewing camp designed for those looking to transform found fabrics into unique, one-of-a-kind items. Throughout this camp, students will learn essential sewing skills, from basic stitches to more advanced techniques, empowering them to give new life to repurposed materials. Artist, Lis Joy, will guide each participant through the process of designing and creating personalized projects.

Many materials will be provided for this class. Because of the unique style of each participant, some projects will require students to bring their own fabrics.

 

FUR, FEATHERS, & SCALES

Recommended ages 5-12

June 16 - 19 9am-4pm | $220 member price $175

From furry mammals to feathered birds and scaly reptiles, the animal kingdom is full of inspiration! In Fur, Feathers, and Scales, young artists will explore a variety of mixed media projects to create stunning animal-themed artwork. Campers will learn about the diverse wildlife native to Galveston as they bring their favorite creatures to life through painting, sculpture, printmaking, and more. With hands-on activities and creative exploration, this camp is perfect for animal lovers and budding artists alike!

 

SUMMER SPLASH OF COLOR

Recommended ages 7-12

June 23 - June 26 | Monday-Thursday 9am - 4pm | $220 member price: $175

In Summer Splash of Color, young artists will explore the magic of color theory, from the color wheel to complementary colors, color mapping, and how light transforms what we see. Through hands-on projects using a variety of materials, campers will experiment with blending, layering, and mixing colors in new and exciting ways. From vibrant paintings to dynamic collages and creative color studies, students will discover how artists use color to create mood, depth, and expression.

 

SHARK WEEK: MIXED MEDIA ART CAMP

July 7 - July 10 | Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm | $220 member price $175

Young artists will explore the fascinating world of sharks and other underwater creatures while bringing them to life through mixed-media art. From crafting large papier-mâché sculptures to painting, collage, and other hands-on projects, campers will experiment with different materials and techniques to create stunning ocean-inspired masterpieces.

 

CERAMICS FOR KIDS

Recommended Ages 7-11

July 14 - July 17 | Monday - Thursday 1pm - 4pm | $220 member price $175

Get your hands messy in Ceramics for Kids! This hands-on camp introduces young artists to clay through hand building and sculpting techniques. Campers will learn how to pinch, coil, and slab-build as they create their own unique ceramic masterpieces. From whimsical sculptures to functional pottery, each project will encourage self-expression while developing fine motor skills and artistic confidence. Join us for a week of creativity, exploration, and plenty of clay-filled fun!

 

CERAMICS FOR TEENS

Recommended ages 13-18

July 21-24 | Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm | $220 member price $175

Designed for older students, this camp offers more advanced hand building and sculpting techniques, allowing for greater creative expression and technical mastery. Campers will work with clay to craft unique sculptures, functional pottery, and expressive ceramic art while learning about form, texture, and glazing methods. Whether you’re refining your skills or discovering a new passion, this camp offers the perfect space to experiment, create, and bring your ideas to life in clay!

 

ART & SCIENCE FUSION CAMP

Recommended ages 8-12

July 28-31 | Monday - Thursday 9am - 12pm | $220 member price $175

The Art & Science Fusion Camp explores the intersection of creativity and scientific discovery, engaging campers in hands-on projects that merge artistic expression with scientific concepts. Each day introduces a new theme, guiding participants through exciting experiments and creative activities inspired by chemistry, physics, engineering, and environmental science. Whether painting with light, designing optical illusions, or constructing imaginative inventions, this camp is perfect for young scientists and artists alike! 

 

KINDERCAMP

Recommended ages 4-6

August 04 - August 07 | Monday - Thursday 9:30am- 12pm | $125 member discount $100

This fun camp is designed for our younger artists, who are interested in exploring the world of multi-media art. Campers will learn about exciting art processes such as painting, drawing, collage, printing, paper mache and more.

Enroll your child in this exciting multi-media creative journey before their first day of Kindergarten. They will not only learn valuable artistic skills but also have the opportunity to meet new friends and experience the joy of working with a variety of materials. Join us for this memorable adventure and help your child start their Kindergarten experience on a positive note! 

 
 


CAMP POLICIES

  • Students must bring a lunch from home each day for full day camps.

  • Students may bring a snack and drink from home for all camps. There is a water dispenser to refill drinks throughout the day.

  • Late enrollment may be accepted, however some materials may not be ready at first class.

  • Registration fees are nonrefundable.

  • In the rare event of cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances, a reasonable effort will be made to schedule a make-up class session on an alternate date, or the class fee (less any classes already held) will be credited to the customer’s account.

  • Group communications/announcements are conducted by email to the address entered at registration. Individual communications may be handled by phone/text.

  • Alert Director of Education for any allergies or concerns prior to the first day of camp

  • If a student is outside the recommended ago for a camp, contact the education director to discuss further.

  • If a student is more than 5 minutes late for dismissal pick up you may be invoiced an additional $1 per minute late after the 5 minute grace period. You will receive a warning notice prior to receiving late pick up invoices.

GAC Members enjoy 20% off of tuition. You must sign in with the email associated with your membership account to receive the discount. Full-time students, teachers/professors, and parents who homeschool can join at the Student/Educator level for just $30/year.
