Does your staff, team, family, club, or wedding party deserve a creative art retreat? Book a GAC teaching artist for a virtual or in-person custom experience! Treat them to say thank you, or split the fee among yourselves.

In this 2-hour session, you will create custom objects from low-fire, earthenware clay. Choose a subject from relief tiles, small sculptures or figurines, simple vessels, or beads.  This course uses hand-building methods that don’t require a potter’s wheel. Learn the basics of clay construction, plus various kinds of surface treatments.

Your finished piece is kiln-fired after the workshop and ready for pick-up in 7-14 days, if you choose to take it home unglazed. Choose white or terra-cotta colored clay.

Other Finishing Options:

• Book a second session to glaze your piece; no sooner than 4 days after first session to allow clay to dry, then allow 3-10 days for firing. $100

• Book a second session to paint your piece 7-14 days after first session to allow time for firing. Take it home when finished. $100

• Just have us add a clear top-coat: gloss or matte. (No need to return for a second session, but this does require second firing and will add several days, plus $5 fee per piece.)

• Or pick it up after the first firing and paint it at home. (Use acrylic paint for a durable finish or just about any other kind of paint for indoor decorative use.)

Other Fees

Materials & kiln fee: $15 per person, due on first day of event.
After-hours fee: $15 per hour for each hour outside of our GAC gallery hours.

Your Booking Fee reserves the studio for up to 2 hours (including cleanup) and includes instruction; we will set up the room for the activity before your event.
